Why We Start With Your Goal, Not Your Spec

Four step flow from a customer goal to a working LabVIEW test system.

Most projects for LabVIEW test systems don’t show up as a clean spec. They show up as a goal. You need to know if a part is good before it ships. You need to prove a unit holds pressure. You need numbers an auditor will trust. How to get there is usually still an open question, and that’s fine. Figuring that out is the part we’re good at.

A spec tells us what to build

A spec is useful, but it’s only ever as complete as the person who wrote it. If a detail got left out, a system built straight to the spec leaves it out too. You find the gap later, on the floor, when the stand passes a part it shouldn’t or the data doesn’t line up with what the customer needs.

We’re actual engineers, not just people who write code. So before we build, we ask what the result is really for and what decision it drives. That’s how the gaps get caught early, while they’re still cheap to fix.

The software is where it comes together

Most of what we do is write LabVIEW software running on real automation hardware. The coding is the part everyone pictures, but it’s rarely the hard part. The hard part is making the software do the right thing. Measure what actually matters. Make the right pass or fail call. Keep the data clean and in order so you can stand behind it.

When you understand what a measurement is for, you build LabVIEW test systems that hold up. When you don’t, you get a stand that runs but nobody trusts.

What you actually get

We’re a small shop, so you’re not stuck in a queue. We respond fast, and we support what we build, around the clock if a line is down and you need it back up. You get an engineer who understands the point of the system, not a vendor handing off code and walking away.

If you’ve got a goal and you’re not sure how to get there yet, get in touch with us. Our team at Dynamic Engineering in Cleveland builds LabVIEW test systems every day, and you can read more about Joseph Zarycki.
